Especially for this occasion, L’Arpeggiata presents a powerful new work: “Wonder Women.” This moving musical project pays tribute to extraordinary women – composers and artists who, throughout history, had to fight for their right to creative expression.
The program features works by 17th-century Baroque women composers as well as passionate traditional songs from South America and Italy. Particularly poignant is the Mexican folk song “La Bruja” (“The Witch”), a symbol of women’s freedom and strength across time and cultures.
