Minwang Hwang – janggu (Korean hourglass drum), percussion, vocals
Si Young Sung – piri (Korean double-reed flute)

Description:

NaMu is one of the most fascinating ensembles on the Korean music scene, specializing in contemporary interpretations of traditional music. Each member of NaMu is a distinguished soloist, deeply rooted in Korea’s classical tradition while also experienced in jazz, classical, and electronic music.

Using traditional instruments such as the daegeum, piri, yanggeum, and janggu, the musicians craft mesmerizing new sounds that fuse ancestral heritage with the pulse of the modern world.

NaMu captivates with originality and freshness. Their concerts are a unique journey through the soundscape of the Far East – from the delicate tones of the bamboo flute to the expressive rhythms of traditional Korean drums.
