Kaufmann was not to be missed at last year’s Verona Opera Festival. Held in the ancient Arena di Verona amphitheater, the Opera Festival, commonly referred to as Arena, was held for the 100th time in 2023. The organizers invited all the taken opera singers, and all of them who could, came, counting the invitation as an honor. The cast of each performance included excellent artists. Some, like Domingo and just Kaufmann gave recitals.

“The King of Tenors,” as Kaufmann is considered by his compatriots, confirmed his versatility with a diverse program. From the most beautiful opera arias, including those from Tosca, La Traviata and Otello, through operetta classics with the aria Dein ist mein ganzes Herz (Thine is the heart of me) from Léhar’s Land of Smiles, to musical evergreens with West Side Story at the forefront.
Kaufmann’s guests Sonya Yoncheva and Ludovic Tézier also took the stage during this beautiful concert.
