David Garrett immediately won the hearts of Garden audiences, who awarded the Golden Clover to the 2021 David Garrett Unlimited concert at the Arena in Verona, the recording of which was shown at the 21st Gardens. (The Golden Clover is the Music Gardens Festival’s audience award for the best projection in a given year).
The recording of Garrett’s concert from the Caracalla Thermal Baths, which we screened at last year’s Gardens, had one of the largest attendances.

This year we will show his concert from 2023, which took place in an equally attractive setting – namely in an ancient theater in Taormina, Sicily.

The program includes: Vivaldi, Schumann, Saint-Saëns, Kreisler.

The idea of this concert was to evoke the Golden Age of violin virtuosos, when Zino Francescatti, Arthur Grumiaux, Jascha Heifetz, Fritz Kreisler and Yehudi Menuhin were brimming on the stages. With the miniatures and encores with which they delighted their admirers, we will enjoy Garrett’s interpretations, accompanied by his guitarist and arranger Franck van der Heijden, bassist Rogier van Wegberg and the Orchestra del Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina” under the direction of Gianna Fratta.
Special guest: Matteo Bocelli – Andrea’s son, who followed in his father’s footsteps.
