L’Arpeggiata to close the Festival in 2025!
Live Concert – Festival Finale
L’Arpeggiata & Christina Pluhar – Wonder Women
To close the jubilee edition of the Music Gardens Festival, the ensemble L’Arpeggiata, led by the charismatic Christina Pluhar, will perform the program Wonder Women – a musical tribute to women who, throughout history, have had to fight for their right to creative expression. The repertoire features works by 17th-century Baroque women composers such as Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, Isabella Leonarda, and Antonia Bembo, alongside passionate traditional songs from South America and Italy. A particularly moving highlight will be the Mexican song “La Bruja” (“The Witch”), symbolizing the freedom and strength of women across all eras and cultures.
The concert will feature outstanding soloists: Luciana Mancini (mezzo-soprano), Céline Scheen (soprano), Benedetta Mazzucato (mezzo-soprano), and Vincenzo Capezzuto (alto).
Christina Pluhar, founder and artistic director of L’Arpeggiata, is renowned for blending early music with elements of jazz and world music, giving her projects a distinctive and innovative character.
The Wonder Women program has been enthusiastically received by critics, who praise its originality and powerful message. Reviews highlight the masterful performances and the unique fusion of Baroque music with traditional melodies from diverse cultures.
